Prep Time: 20 mins | 1 Serving
Sometimes we hit that point in life when we just need a bite of cheesy seafood goodness. (All the time.) This Tuna Cristo recipe, made with our Solid White Albacore Tuna, bacon, cheese, and perfectly toasted bread, is Sam the Cooking Guy®’s answer to that craving — and trust us, it hits.
Ingredients
Tuna Salad Mix:
- 2 (12 oz.) cans Bumble Bee® Solid White Albacore Tuna, drained
- 1/3 cup dill, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup finely chopped green onion
- 1/3 cup finely chopped parsley
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- Salt & pepper to taste
Sandwich:
- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons of mayo
- 4 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
- 4 slices of crispy bacon
- 2 eggs, beaten in a large bowl
- 1 tablespoon of butter
Directions
Combine ingredients for the Tuna Salad Mix in a large bowl. Stir together until ingredients are evenly combined but not overworked, and set aside.
Spread mayo on one side of both slices of sourdough bread.
Add 2 slices of cheese to one of the slices, top with 1 cup of tuna mixture, then bacon, the remaining cheese and finally top with second piece of bread.
Add butter to a non-stick pan and place on medium heat over the stove. Dip the entire sandwich in beaten egg. Place sandwich on pan and cook for roughly 5 minutes or until golden brown. Flip the sandwich and cook until golden brown.
Cut sandwich in triangles and serve while warm.
Save remainder of tuna mix in air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
